Food to Avoid

Below is the list of FOOD to AVOID for people with GAPS

You must avoid grains, beans, and potatoes (including yam potato) until you restore the beneficial flora and heal your gut lining and its function.

I know many articles by doctors suggest that those foods high in dietary fibers promote good bacteria. Yes, I agree with them; however, only when your beneficial bacteria are appropriately stored and your good health status is maintained.

Without healthy gut flora, you can not digest those dietary fibers correctly, which means those fibers promote harmful bacteria within you.

Especially if you have an overgrown candida, I strongly recommend you avoid grains, beans, and potatoes (including yam potato)!

The list below is from the GAPS yellow book. Some GAPS people may have more foods to avoid depending on their reaction to foods. I have learned that fruits and nuts worsened Candida-caused inflammations.
